Loco Zydeco is a high energy Canadian Zydeco band. Blending traditional and modern Zydeco into their own original style, they've just released their 3rd album and have wowed festival crowds across Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick with their high octane, interactive, live performances. "They play their hearts out and do a fantastic job interpreting the various styles within the genre," says Louisiana Zydeco legend Terrance Simien and their latest disc, "Time To Turn The Key" has been described as "one of the best CD's, Zydeco based or otherwise, heard in quite a while" by John Vermilyea's Blues Underground Network. Their 1st two albums have received airplay across North America, while "Time To Turn The Key" is starting to receive airplay and garner rave reviews in Europe. Their live shows often become a free for all of audience participation, with extra rubboards being used to entice anyone adventurous enough to join the band on stage, or workshops being offered on Zydeco dance, the history of Zydeco or the rubboard.

For the un-initiated, Zydeco is a lively and danceable accordion and rubboard-based music, originating in SW Louisiana and East Texas and truly appealing to people of all ages. Backed by guitar, bass and drums, Zydeco blends traditional Creole songs and melodies with various forms of popular music - originally with the Blues, and later, with R&B, Soul, Funk and even Reggae. Loco Zydeco embraces these roots and traditions, while constantly looking for fresh new ways to leave their stamp on this exciting genre. Put your dancing shoes on, bring the whole family and laissez les bon temps roulez !
