There aren't many musicians around with resumes as impressive as Toronto’s Bill King and The Rockit 88 Band is his dream team blues rock band. Bill takes care of keys and vocals with support from guitarist/vocalist extraordinaire Neil Chapman, vocalist Stacey Bulmer, bassist Jay Speziale and drummer Jim Casson. This is contemporary rocking blues. Some songs are from the fifties others country and Southern rock, but the arrangements are modern and masterfully re-lived. The experience of Bill King (he’s acted as musical director for both Janis Joplin and Ronnie Hawkins and has backed artists as diverse as Linda Ronstadt and the Pointer Sisters) and the band’s enthusiasm for the music shines through on every song and the exciting playing never stops.
