Everyday People - The Music of Sly & The Family Stone

Sly Stewart put Soul and Rock music together and created FUNK. 50 years after performing at Woodstock, this San Francisco Band is still one of the most influential bands in North America.

It was always a dance party at a Family Stone Concert.

Lance Anderson, has assembled an incredible cast of Canadian Blues and Funk all-stars for this show led by Toronto phenom Quincy Bullen and Soul sensation Quisha Wint and an ensemble of some of Canada’s finest musicians, Selena Evangeline (sax) Marie Goudy (trumpet) Everton White (drums) Calvin Beale (bass) Rohan Staton (guitar) and Lance musical director.

They will play the hits from Sly’s influential playlist like Dance To The Music, Everyday People, Thank You (Fallettinme Be Mice Elf Agin), I Want To Take You Higher, Hot Fun in the Summertime, Family Affair, Stand and many more!

‘Summer of Soul’ was the Oscar winning documentary movie in 2022 and featured Sly and the Family Stone, in a spell binding performance. Sly influenced heavily artists as diverse as Prince and Herbie Hancock.

‘EVERYDAY PEOPLE’ headlined the Friday night at the 2022 Kitchener Blues Festival and were the talk of the festival. They have also headlined the Southside Shuffle and the Beaches Jazz festival and were chosen for Hugh’s Room Live’s live streaming concerts. The Meaford Hall will be their first Georgian Bay area concert performance.
