“When my band and I used to play Rod Stewart covers in pubs, people would often ask me if I was lip-syncing to a track because of the striking similarity between myself and Mr. Stewart’s voices”, says Doug. “When I assured them that it was really me, they’d insist that me doing a Rod tribute show would be a big hit. Though a little reluctant at first to wear the wig and the shiny suits, I started out in the tribute biz about twenty years ago and quickly learned to embrace the opportunity to become someone else, just for a while.”

With pipes aplenty, Juno nominee Pangman possesses the requisite taste, talent and the historical knowledge of an avid record collector to breathe new life into the sturdy standards of the classic jazz era. She's also a broadcaster on JAZZ.FM91 on her program Swing Set, where she shares the records and stories of the swinging music that began to take shape in the 1920s, hit its stride in the ’30s and ’40s, and continues to be played by artists today.

Free Event Shuttle Service

The event shuttles are free and accessible.

The Shuttles will complete continuous loops, approximately 20min for each loop, beginning from the Meridian Community Centre and will continue to the following locations.

First shuttle pick up begins at 5:00 p.m.

  • Meridian Community Centre - Rear Entrance by the flag pole
  • St. Alexanders School - Front Parking Lot
  • Holy Trinity Church
  • Lookout Ridge Retirement Home - Independent Living Entrance
  • Fonthill United Church 
  • 20 Pelham Town Square (The corner of Pelham Town Square, across from the Post Office).

The final shuttle will leave Pelham Town Square at approximately 9:00 p.m.
