Bandshell introduces Patron Program for 2012

Signs of an early spring have planning in full spring for the upcoming 2012 Fonthill Bandshell Summer Concert Series.

Now in its seventh season, the free Thursday program is enjoying a growing reputation for bringing professional entertainment to Pelham in the family friendly atmosphere of Peace Park .

To help ensure that professionalism can carry on, the volunteer committee is introducing a new program for 2012. For a limited time, starting April 1, Bandshell Booster Buttons will be available for purchase.

Under the booster program, patrons may purchase a button for a donation of $100 or more. The wearer, his or her significant other and any children in the household under the age of 18 can attend weekly concerts without having to make donations to the bucket brigade. What’s more, the purchaser will also have the option of receiving a tax receipt for the donation.  Please make cheques payable to the Rotary Club of Fonthill.

The free summer concert series experience, featuring musicians and entertainment acts from Niagara and many other places in Ontario , is financed every year by the donations of patrons and the support of local business sponsors. The 2012 lineup features 12 great performances, starting June 21 with the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll show of Freddy Vette and the Flames. A mix of tribute performances and original music in a variety of genres has been secured, including Juno Award winners Le Vent du Nord, and, for the first time, a full concert devoted to celebrating the music of Elvis Presley.

The booster buttons are available for purchase until June 23 at Star Tile, Lazy Loon, Lookout Ridge Retirement Village , Keith’s Restaurant and Pelham Auto. The program is being sponsored by the Rotary Club of Fonthill, which will issue the tax receipts for those interested.

A small group of dedicated volunteers puts together the concert series each year, with the ongoing support of the Town of Pelham . Anyone interested in helping during the weekly concerts, including teenagers looking for fill their volunteer hours, can get in touch with Bandshell committee members directly, or click on the volunteer link below.
